Last Friday’s double massacre in Oslo and at Utøya has left my country, and many others, in shock and great sadness. Our peaceful nation has been tested to its full, with more than 90 innocent people dead from the bomb blast in Oslo city centre, and the shooting spree at the youth camp a few miles away.
Since the news came, our people have gone through a tough time where grief, sadness and solidarity have made their impact on us all. The message all over has been simple; we do not respond with hate or aggression, but with care and love for each other.

When Leeds messed it up home to Barnsley this Tuesday night, it was the 10th match of the season with an evening kick-off. And: the 10th evening match without a win for us. Coincidence?
With the number of matches played with a kick-off after 19:00 raised to 10, there needs to be some serious questions asked if the stat and indeed fact that we don’t manage to win any of them happens by random, or if there are other reasons to the lack of points taken when the dark is upon us.
Because, as tweeter @_mattfoster pointed out recently, the truth is that we would have been top of the league with 7 points down to QPR, had we only had the same form in the evening games as for matches played in the daytime. Only 4 points have been grabbed in those 10 games; a potential 26 points lost.
So are the boys in white scared of the dark? Do they get up too early in the morning, only to lose their energy in the evening? Are they averagely more influenced by floodlights than any other opposition side? Does the squad preparation not fit evening matches? Or is it really just a coincidence?
