They've been waiting 3 years for this, since they tried to take us to court and ran out of time. Will be interested to see how this one goes, if HMRC lose this then CVA's could become the norm again, and if they win they'll end up classified with the footballing debt for 100% repayment again.

Gosh, if only there'd been an example of a high profile club doing this before that'd resulted in disaster and a plummet down a couple of divisions, then everyone would've seen that spunking all your cash in such a fashion is silly.

Heard on the radio this morning if Pompey win (or play Chelsea in the final) of the FA cup they won't get to play in Europa League as they couldn't afford to pay the European club registration!!!

False economy.

Not really. The Europa League is only profitable for the winner, generally.

That's a shame. If they'd gone today we'd have been top, ten points clear of 3rd, with only ten matches to play. As it is, we might be one of the last clubs to play them.

Yeah, but they are paltry, and costs for a PL team are so high that it's not really profitable.

Presumably because all results involving them get expunged, and Norwich have already beaten them twice?

Yep. We'd lose our one point from the 0-0 at their place. Norwich have taken 6 points from them.
