Yep, you and me both. Looking forward to replacing it with the Unarmed-Protester-Murdering Old Cunt thread

Perhaps Bates should sue the owners of Yorkshire radio as they seem to be a bigger drain on the resources of the club the policing costs.

It is completely at the judges discretion, doesn't mean one of the parties didn't request it.
John Beggs QC, for the police, told the court Leeds United's home matches had one of the worst records for football-related violence in the UK.

Do we? Bloody hell that has obviously passed me by in the last few years, apart from a bit of pushing and shoving at Cardiff or Millwall games I dont remember anything of note. And if the violence happens away from the ground you can't really make the club responsible surely.

They say that they're there for the football, so the football club should contribute.
I suppose the question is do pubs/nightclubs have to pay extra to the police towards dealing with drunkeness in the town centre at 3am in the morning? As I see it it's the same principle, in that if the pubs/clubs weren't there that anti social behaviour wouldn't happen in that quantity at that time.
Anybody know the answer to that?

My overview is that the club is skating on thin ice with this whole thing. They're certain to lose because of the precedent a win would set.
Say you organise a festival in a field somewhere, and the police have to manage traffic congestion five miles away as a result of the festival. It's inevitable that the festival organisers would be charged for that.
This is a form of making the police cost the government less by stealth. What they'd like to do is cut budgets and then charge 'users' for the privilege of being policed, at every opportunity. It stinks, but it's the way the world is heading.
All as a result of Simon B voting Tory, obviously
