As a loyal supporter for more years than I care to remember, up until this season I'd always bought a Matchday Programme. Threw all the ones from the 60s and the 70s away when I left home, but was starting to build up a nice collection. My lad's first game, programmes from the League One Title Year etc.

This season, following the 33% increase I've only bought the first one, look at it and decided it just wasn't worth the money. I'd be really interested to find out what the sales figures have been like this year versus last year and whether Uncle Ken has kept the same level of revenue?

Are the sales figures available anywhere or has Ken made an utterance during one of his cosy chats with Ben?

Me seems to recall Chubby saying once that Kenneth had told him that used the programme sales to pay his legal fees in't libel case.

So I hope you can sleep at night now you've left our chairman wide open to legal action, you selfish bastard. :wheels:

I'm the same with the programmes this season. Got the first on or two then didn't get any more as it just wasn't worth paying £4 for a load of adverts.

Got my members renewal email this morning too.
I wasn't aware of this until the other day.
Handily they've now given me 2 weeks to think about it. Why didn't they email me in March to let me know?
Are they hoping I'll panic & pay without question?

One bit puzzled me though.

2012/13 Online Early Renewal Prices - March 19 until April 30 2012
£40 - Adult UK
£30 - Adult International
£25 - Junior UK
£28 - Junior International

So adults in the UK are charged more than adults abroad, but juniors here are charged less.
That seems a bit of a piss-take to say the least, though I'm sure it can be justified by someone.

I haven't bought a programme since fuckface turned up at the club, not paying to read his propaganda. I did get the free copy that was given out last summer, flicked through it and straight in the recycling - mostly advertising, Kens lies and pointless interviews about what's Alex Bruce's favourite colour etc

Missed that, what is/was Alex's favourite colour? My money's on red, but it'll probably follow the rest of my wagers and go straight into the bookie's pocket!!!

It wasn't as clear as that, he was simply using it as justification for his controversial comments. "We sell more programmes than Everton" - as if that's supposed to mean something

If I remember right they reduced the price for us ex-pats when they stopped sending us LLLs, Im sure it'll explain on the website. I guess the kids get the same shit home or abroad. We get some Leeds United International tat n nowt after that. ( other than the tickets ).

Not sure what I'll do yet.. Expect I'll renew do I can apply for ticket, but I used to feel okay about putting 30 quid into the club, now I feel like a idiot. Same goes for Lutv, I'll renew, but only if I know Eddie is coming back, I ain't paying to listen to that fucking scab Lorimer.

We don't get LLL any more either since they stopped doing it!

I'm sure you lot get better tat though :D :D Looking at this, the membership doesn't really include a lot does it .. :(

Annual golf day, anyone?

Why not join us for our prestigious annual Leeds United Golf Day on Monday 30 April 2012?

This year's event promises to be extra special with some fantastic new additions making the day a truly great experience for golfers and Leeds United fans alike.

Following on from the success of last year's Golf Day held at Oulton Hall, we are pleased to return to the Dave Thomas designed course for this year's competition. Oulton Hall boasts the North of England's leading golf performance centre and is a must for golf aficionados.

The price for a team of four is £550+VAT and this can include a Leeds United legend or current first team player*. Individuals are also welcome to join us on the Golf Day at a price of £150+VAT per person and will be paired with other individuals to make up a team of four in order to enter the competition.

Click here for more information or contact the Commercial Team on 0871 334 1919 (option 3) or email sales@leedsunited.com

*Subject to availability and allocated on the day. Please note that due to the nature of football, players are sometimes forced to withdraw at late notice.

But we've got the biggest squad in football history etc etc...

yeah I had a quick look. An alien from another planet seeing those charts for the first time would wonder what the heck was going on at that 'Leeds united'.

I've always hoped Swiss Ramble would do a blog on us but fear he'd conclude we're a successful business, which is what a lot of the independent analysts say, forgetting we're actually a football club who's aim is to be among the best in the country, not the most profitable business.

QPR seem to have spent a lot on wages to win promotion, who was their manager at the time?

I'll look into this a bit more tomorrow (or whenever I get chance) but I'm pretty sure Bates printed figures in the programme which meant you could work out the split in wages between playing staff and the other staff including YR and it worked out about 50% split. Unbelievable if we only spent around £8.25m on players' wages last season.

I reckon Kennys been saving up for a couple of seasons to have a massive spending spree from the Euros and Olympics this summer......

Shame it'll be mostly workers from Poland and fixtures and fittings for the hotel!!!

How did Watford make such a huge profit? I don't remember a particularly big transfer deal. How much did D.Graham go for?

In any case, I think aliens would look at QPR and Bristol City before they looked at Leeds United.

The table does suggest that Grayson maybe slightly overperformed with us (because, no doubt, the likes of Gradel and Howson were better than their contribution to the wage bill would suggest) and that our recent managerial upheaval has disrupted this and returned us to around our expected level.

If we're going to pull non-playing staff wages out, surely that needs to be done for all clubs? I don't expect ours to come out at 8m though -- we'd be working miracles to be a midtable-to-top6 club on that kind of budget. It will likely come out at the ~11m figure that Kenny B has trotted out on state radio a few times (budget 9.5m, "overspend" 2m, was it?)

Wow, I hadn't noticed Swansea's ratio. Their total wage bill still suggests that they've done phenomenally well but it's a very cavalier approach.
