i will admit to once or twice having semi-stolen in a very small way... e.g. in a rush trying to buy an unpackaged item from the bakery [say a big cheese straw] & unable to find it from the list that they give you I have dishonestly told the machine that it was something else [say a croissant], always tending to err on the side of something that i think will be about the same price or cheaper, rather than about the same price or more expensive...

but i find it odd that so many people woudl seemingly steal for no reason other than to save money.

Unless I've only got a couple of things, I don't get it.

I mean, you pay a fixed price for a quantity of goods and then:

- Option A: you go through the till with someone helping you to do the same amount of work; someone who is quick because they spend all day doing the job.
- Option B: you do all the work yourself. Slowly, because you have to try and locate the bar code on every item. And then you get into a fucking argument with autotwatwoman regarding unexpected items in the bagging area.

If there's a mahoosive queue at the tills, there's usually a mahoosive queue at the self scans too. So why the fuck would anyone choose Option B?
