Fixtures 2011-12

Postby AndyPaul » Tue Jun 14, 2011 3:14 pm

Fixtures are out on Friday. Enjoying no Leeds at the moment but once the fixtures are out I start to miss the useless pricks.

The Carling cup draw is on Thursday and I really couldn't give a shit, its seeded in a north/south divide so we are certain to get a shit drawer. Though Wednesday are unseeded so would be a good drawer I suppose.

Bring on Blackpool away on a cold January night

Seeing the fixtures will be the icing on the "we don't really know what is happening with our club right now" cake. As we learned from this season just gone, you don't know what kind of season anyone will have and it probably won't sort itself out until the very end anyhow. Thus, we'll basically know logistically where we will be playing but it'll be impossible to extrapolate anything from it because we don't know what kind of team anyone will be putting out, much less our own.

I'm just hoping that we'll still have a manager, that we'll hold on to our better players and make some signings to replace those that have already gone.

Do you think?

The first rule of fixture day is to ignore the cunts. At least 25% of the fuckers will change.

Ah that depends on how one defines ill. If you mean like a short term thing like a cold or a spot on yer Harris then no I haven't. If you mean a long term illness like Cancer or summat like that then yes. My Diabetes has caused me a few problems and now it has caused me to lose toes from my right foot, will know on Friday if i will lose the leg,but hey I really don't give a shit. I have a really supportive family, some great mates and Leeds Utd. But thanks for you concern :thumbl:

Oh and I nearly forgot a fucking job as well

Interesting take from a new direction: http://wp.me/p1AlkS-3Y
No supporters owned club has ever got into the top two English divisions, something to bare in mind when LUST try and persuade you they know their arse from their elbow.

Its just a way of exploiting your clubs fans. It no different from every club releasing a new shirt every season. There is a customer base that in football tends to be loyal, so maximise money by getting as much out of them as possible.

Its like the old ticket price argument. There is no argument till people stop going.

Even if Bates only had 5000 club members it would still be worth his while doing it as that's still a lot of money to be made and as he says they don't make money on away tickets anyway.

I like the article but lets face it Bates or no Bates, the membership scheme is here to stay.

Is it right that the last weekend of matches next season is the 28/29th April?
If it is I hope the last day for the Championship is on the Sunday. My inconsiderate son is getting married on Sat 28th, and you can guarantee it'll be a vital home match to decide our fate!

Not really, just some sad cunt like you, or it is you, don't give a shit really. I remember when you could only get aways via the supporters club, what did they do with their membership money, well it did fuck all to benefit Leeds? In the end they went in direct competition with the club and bought that shit hole of a pub because quite rightly Bates decided that a 3rd party organisation was profiting from the club, so made sure that that money was to come to the club and not feed the egos of some silly cunts who think the club owe them.

The club are maximising revenue streams and the line in that shit blog saying we would be better away supporters without memberships, just how? Fucking spacktard.

I don’t really have a huge problem with the way the membership works. There’s both a revenue and a ‘security’ justification for having it. Although at £40 it is starting to get quite expensive, especially when the ‘Bates tax’ applied to ticket purchases would probably easily cover the cost of running a membership scheme.

A forlorn hope no doubt but I’d quite like to see it confer a small discount on home tickets [e.g. a quid or two per ticket], otherwise the fairly high charge stops being something you can reasonably characterise as a charge that captures value from [possibly Southern and/or wealthy] out-of-towners who don’t otherwise put money into the club.

Don't we have ~40000 members? Even if a lot of those are kids n season ticket holders (they still get their membership 'free' don't they??) it's is a heck of a lot of dosh. I don't mind putting a few quid into the club via my membership. Christ, how many clubs have sold bond schemes to their fans for thousands of quid? Without which their fans didn't even have the 'right' to buy a season ticket. I would love it if our club was owned by the members, and we got to vote for the chairman, be we didn't buy the club, Bates did .... Which is kind of shit .. But ...

the membership's benefits for me are the ability to get tickets before they go on general sale and then to get them in the family area in the east stand where the seats used to work out a quid or 2 cheaper than the north east corner.

considering that getting tickets in the NE is a bit hit and miss, as it sells out fairly quickly, and you get a slightly better view of the match, IMO, from the magnificent new east stand then it's a reasonable deal. i can also get my lad tickets, :) which is a bonus but the trouble is you've always got to ring them up and go through the tribulations of waiting for ages while you pay through the nose to sit in a queue :|

but instead of sitting with a bunch of old miserable sods, which is what i like in the NE,you've then got the pleasure of being surrounded by other kids and their families.
