Well, that's overstating the point a bit (not hard when I was so brief). To me it looks like
a) he negotiated some killer contract clauses relating to
b) his repeated signing of the same players at different clubs where
c) allegations were made about his propriety in selecting players to transfer in, wrt. agents and bungs, money which
d) he had to stash offshore to avoid paying tax.

All together not village idiot stuff, for sure. Maybe I was swung by his naming the account Rosie47; rang bells with other stories I'd heard about the sinful-rich having no idea *whatsoever* what was going on with their money unless it was in tangibles, and other stories about long-forgotten Swiss accounts which were so well-hidden the principals couldn't remember where they were. Hence the name he wouldn't forget unless he had whats-it-called, Alzheimer's. Think of how often accountants skim millions and it only comes to light years down the line. Same thing.
