I wouldn't expect us to announce the signing of a player that is still 'active' - particularly one embroiled in a relegation battle (e.g. Kenny or Hill)?

Just idle thoughts like

My money is on the lad from Pompey, I recon their financial situation adds to the urgency, and here we are wanting to act as early as we possibly can, for a change. Most clubs would presumably wait until after the final game to enter negotiations for a contracted player and if we were talking about a freebie, he wouldn't technically sign until mid summer + we'd presumably be less inclined to keep it quiet.

Hope so, there seems to be a lot of Pompey fans saying they dont want to lose him, and all reports seem to be he's a decent player.

Watched an interview with him on something, BBC maybe, over weekend. He clearly isn't staying at pompey he was talking about the THEM not WE when regarding Portsmouth plans for future.

Although Ipswich were after him also in the summer, agreed price but not terms or some such thing.

I don't doubt that a few games for LUFC will correct that.

That Ched Evans could do a job.
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

As what? A promoter for cheap but quality hotel rooms in Beeston? Ken will be pleased to have him on board.

I'd say, about now, he probably is 'doing a job'.

Didn't Colin try to use......I'm the most hated manager, Leeds are the most hated club, to get the players and fans up for a game recently. Maybe he intends to add fuel to that fire with El Hadj Diouf. Bowyer'll be next, followed by Barton and Bellamy, if he tries to get Ga..Ga..Gary Neville (I have trouble even typing the cunt's name), I'm starting a 'Cash for a Hitman' fund!!

Barton n Bellamy I could live with I reckon, Wise was worse, but I wouldn't go see that animal play in a Leeds shirt if it was free.

Personally I was sort of ashamed and sickened by some of the tackles in that Reading game, not to mention our run of players getting sent off. I don't want to encourage more of that. Brown put two players out for the season during the course of this year. Imagine if that happened to Snodgrass or Becchio. We'd be livid.

Furthermore, I feel like it would make the whole thing about Warnock putting together "a good bunch of lads" for a promotion vanish instantly. Colin, Derry and recently The Secret Footballer all mentioned that this was basically the key ingredient of a promotion run.

I would say that is reason enough for him to be coming....I am with eric, its bloody hilarious, Bates, Warnock Diouf the new axis of evil  . Give it six months, we will all be wearing knock-off market diouf t-shirts just like we did with Vinnie.
