Anyone else think three year contract for a 24 year old, isn't such a long length of time. Whose hedging their bets then Snodgrass or Norwich?

Fair point - Kompany today got a six year deal at Shitty.

A three year deal is a sensible contract for everybody concerned, there's nothing odd about it at all.

A three-year deal is perfectly normal for a club who offer new contracts to their best players before there's a chance they'll leave for a pittance/free.

Warnock has been very open with most of his transfer dealings? It's been club policy since he arrived. Anyway Peltier can't be the marquee signingy, competing with Huddersfield of one of their old L1 players who's been rejected by Leicester is hardly the stuff that packs hm in.

Though I guess there sudden rush of signings might be an attempt at getting the fans to forget the takeover, now we've sold golden boy, n Bates has a few quid burning a hole in his pocket.

That might be the club's official policy, but it certainly isn't Warnock's! Ashdown is the only signing so far this summer which wasn't public knowledge, and even that was probably because no one cared.

I might be being picky, just a little fucked off with Leeds United at the minute.

There's plenty to be fucked off about, but to be honest this summer has so far gone much better than last, take all the takeover bollocks out of the equation as its not really impacted anything yet and we've signed 9 players while only missing out on 1, we know this because the club have seemingly been open about things and the media reports have all been on target so far.

We've done it on a budget but have certainly been re-investing what we've brought in from sales, so at the moment I fully expect us to spend the Snoddy money over the next week or 2. The team assembled so far is very much Warnock's team now, it probably isn't good enough for anything above mid table but at least we will be able to fairly judge Warnock on style and substance over the next couple of months.

I'm actually quite positive about things for the time being and I strongly suspect we'll sign Peltier, Maynard and Boyd over the next week. Then to cap it off, if we're lucky, the takeover will go through and we'll be rid of Bates. The recent glut of transfers have worked in so much as I'm not desperately hitting F5 for takeover news, I feel as though we're good enough to finish comfortably mid table as things currently stand.

I remember when we were speculating that the "takeover" was a ploy to distract us from a lack of transfer activity.

Made me laugh...
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

OK, Dog Botherer's have withdrawn interest in Peltier as they can't afford him (!) but we are in the running, and Barn Door is in talks with Donny Rovers and Notts County. AOB heavily tipped to be off soon. Barn Door and AOB source is Duncan Castles.

I'd heard that Udders were never really in for Peltier, just Leicester trying to boost his value in negotiations with us.

Who's this David Templeton character then? First time I've seen his name mentioned.

Hearts director Sergejus Fedotovas insists the Scottish Premier League club are in no hurry to sell star winger David Templeton this summer.

The 23-year-old has just one year left to run on his contract at Tynecastle, but the Jambos are thought to be holding out for a bid of around £1m.

Several English clubs are believed to be interested in Templeton, with Leeds reportedly leading the chase.

Meant to be a quick nippy winger in the Snodgrass mould. I.E. we buy him for peanuts, and sell him to Norwich in 4 years time at a profit.
