Well I don't think anyone would suggest he could play for a top Premier League side, will he make it in the Premier League? Not sure but he deserves his chance.

If Snoddy is substandard though that doesn't say much for the rest of the team. He was our best player, he wasn't a world beater but he was our best player all the same. I was one of Howson's biggest critics but I still admit he was one of our best players we had.

Varney should hopefully do a job for us but lets be honest, if he was that good he wouldn't be signing for us - a mid-table championship side.

Have not thought about this before, but is Milner really that much better than Snodgrass - even after Milner's limitations as a wide player were clearly higlighted at Euro 2012? And is everyone's pet-hate Walcott better or worse than Snodgrass?
I think Snodgrass has the ability and nous to improve to become a top-team player. I would also say that he goes missing for too long. But working with a decent ful-back you have to think he will look a lot better, once he gets settled in.

He has no pace, that's a killer at the highest level for a winger. If he was a great striker of a dead ball or delivered killer crosses on a regular basis or was physically strong he might be able to make up for his lack of pace, but he doesn't have them in spades either.
He's pretty good with the ball at feet, so he'll get by as a squad player, turn in the odd good performance now and again, best of luck to him.
