He's pretty good with the ball at feet, so he'll get by as a squad player, turn in the odd good performance now and again, best of luck to him.

And from corners or dead balls, he often didn't beat the first man.

Hopefully the other dilluded primadonna cunt will be flogged off very soon and we can get a proper striker in before the season starts, its a shame Norwich arnt looking for a substandard pretend striker to go with the substandard winger they just bought, if they were they could have paid well over what he's really worth like they did for Snodgrass.

Hopefully the Chelsea cunt will be gone soon and Warnock can get on with what he does better than anyone else, get us promoted.

I want eleven men to play for Leeds United that want to play for Leeds United. Team spirit wins things, dilluded primadonna cunts wont ever win you fuck all.

Fuck off Snodgrass you dumb cunt.

Beckford

Postby BobbyD » Sun Jul 29, 2012 8:41 am

I know it ain't been officially linked but the usual speculation has got me thinking.....

I may be going all misty-eyed here but how good would it be to have JB back for this season?

Something tells me he would fucking love to come back. The love he got from (most) Leeds fans will have been sorely missed since his move, expecially at Svens fuck ups....

I mean, you only had to witness his demeanour against us near the end of last season, no wonder he was subbed before we could cheer him off....

His comments before that game too to Leeds fans, where he said the only goal I will score here is for Leeds. Once off the away bus he walked around for about 20 minutes and signed all autographs for all that approached him. Fair play.

There is this hope that this kind of feeling and emotion still exists in some players minds and hearts where they pine for that adrenaline rush of a 30K+ going fucking nuts when you score and then the uproar follows.

Back to sleep now......

I don't get the hype around Beckford, the lad is on 40 grand a week at Leicester, as a pretty average Championship striker he's not worth half that. Anyway we supposedly made Snodgrass the "best offer the club has made for a decade", later reported to be 15K wk. I find it hard to believe we haven't paid a player more than that over the last ten years, but 15-20K is probably the maximum we are going to pay any fucker these days. Signing Beckford woild require that he received a massive payoff, or we took him on loan, and I think Warnock could find someone better for 20K a week.

I would rather we kept RM than bring Becks back, but what's this comment about; "There have been a couple of clubs ask about buying him but we don`t want to sell him unless there is a player exchange. "I would rather keep him and Ross knows that. I think we will have to play it by ear. If Ross starts to enjoy himself, which I think he is then we will see how it goes. "We can`t lose players like Snodgrass and McCormack with replacing them, where would the goals come from?"

Enjoy himself? Seems Warnock might be changing his mind about RM, n perhaps RM has started to realise that with only shite like Huddersfield interested he's better off where he is.

Leedsrumours talking about this scenario: Beckford not coming, RM44 staying and Simon Cox coming to join him, left out by WBA yesterday apparently...
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later.

Trialists, Transfers & Speculation

Postby tommydski » Sun Jul 29, 2012 9:54 am

Cox is off to Blackburn is why. If we sign a striker you have to consider where they are coming from, what wages they are on or can get elsewhere. If you know our ceiling is £12k-£15k then that gives us a good idea of who might come. Beckford won't, for example. Cox is unlikely too. Bothroyd is presumably on a lot of money. I'd like to just keep McCormack and use Becchio, Varney, Gray and Somma also.

Not enough pace there in those five players.

True but presumably White, Varney, McCormack and Rogers are your faster players. I don't think the rest of the side is geared towards pace.

Again, with the team as it is I don't think we're particularly credible promotion contenders but then again, we won't go down either which I genuinely thought we would at the start of the summer.

Varney is meant to be relatively pacey, but not a flat out speed merchant.

White is pacey, but as a winger i am not sure if he knows how to use it, i would prefer to see him at full back but that isn't going to happen unless Drury gets injured. though from the pre season reports he has been impressive so far.

I wouldn't class Mccormack as quick, but over a few yards he can be sharp, but i dont think he will be here at the start of the season.

Varney and Rodgers i haven't seen enough of too comment, i am just hoping to see Rodgers last more than five minutes that would be a good start.

It would be nice to have some raw pace up front even if not a starter but an option from the bench.

i agree i thought there was a genuine threat of relegation, with the lack of activity now we look like a team who will finish top half but probably not make the play offs, the marquee signings if they arrive will hopefully push us in to the promotion race.

With 2 marquee signings before September we have a decent chance of promotion. Without them, play offs at best. More pace absolutely needed.

Call me cynical but I don't think these "marquee signings" are coming. Maybe if the takeover is done by January, if it's even still on the cards.

Any marquee signings will more than likely be season long loans from prem clubs who do not include them in their final squad. Yes Warnerers said he doesn't like loans but I recon that this is how it will pan out.

That'd be good. Read Warnock's bollocks in the Independent and then Kitson's rebuttals in the Guardian. Match made in heaven.

Kitson, well, I've only seen him play one or two full games. Tall but not sure he's the type who enjoys being a sole 'big man' having lumps kicked out of him...
