Scream 4.

Silly set pieces. The 'jumpy' bits were right out of a book of slasher movie cliches. Stupid bloody ending. Rubbish charactors.

The Scream films are known for being self-referential, ever since the second film when they started with the whole 'movie within a movie' schtick. Back then it was quite witty, but in this film it just kind of exposed how tired and stupid the franchise is. Why they brought it back after all these years I'll never know. It's not as if the director had found a clever and imaginitive way to advance the story, it's just the same old thing, but now with an older, and increasingly unattractive, Neve Campbell.

I guess what I'm saying is this film should probably be avoided.

Just got a cineworld unlimited card, £14.99 per month and I can see as many movies as I like. I need to go twice a month to make it value for money. The first use was to go and see Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol yesterday which was an enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Decent special effects although I am not sure about the seeming lack of wind on the 130th floor of the building in Dubai, nonsense plot which allowed chase scenes, fighting and a final second victory for the good guys as per usual! Personally it was interesting to see Dubai as the setting for part of the film as I work there for a few days every couple of months, at one point they chased the bad guys out of one tower black and immediately ran through an archway which I am pretty sure is a couple of miles away  still minor point in the overall fantasy of a plot. Enjoyable nonsense in my opinion.

Recently seen......

Cowboys and Aliens - 3/10
Has Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in, cowboys are attached by aliens. I think its based on some comic or something of the like. Anyway its shite.

Underworld Awakening - 6/10
I quite liked it, maybe not worth the cinema cost (But I have an unlimited card anyway) so maybe wait till its on DVD. Pretty much like the previous films. I FUCKING LOVE KATE BECKINSALE.

The Sitter - 5/10
Baby sitter looks after 3 kids and things don't go as well as he planned. Mildly amusing in places but I won't be watching it again.

The Iron Lady

Great film and Streep yet again demonstrates her great ability as an actress. Played for sympathy as it shows Mrs Thatcher as partially senile talking to her dead husband, still unable to clear out his things from their home. But also showed how bloody hard she had to work to get through the male dominated sexist conservative party of the past (well partly of the past anyway) and just how much she loved Dennis and her children. Reminded me again what disloyal cunts MP's can be in the manner in which she was ejected from her position despite being the most successful conservative leader ever and oddly enough it might have been better for the party had she stayed and lost the next election. Demonstrated her clear views and her vision of the right way to go for the country, we dont seem to have any of that clear vision anymore as everything as to be in the wishy washy ground of the middle. Overall a very good film to see whether you loved or loathed the Iron Lady.

Darkest Hour 3D

A good film featuring invisible aliens taking over the planet to rob us of our rich minerals. Works very well in 3D and the special effects are particularly striking. Standard sci fi plot of a few people pluckily fighting their way through alien covered land and finding a way to fight back but entertaining enough.

The Sitter

Funny in places comedy about the worse baby sitter ever but as AndyPaul says probably not worth more than one watch!

Great film

Did you get to have that wank?

I know Barry White already flagged Mesrine: Killer Instinct but I have to add to that.

If you like gangster movies, do not hesitate. Thrilling, violent, one of the best things I've seen Gerard Depardieu do for years (he's a totally convincing low-rent Don). Vincent Cassel is excellent, and the fact that every event is true, and played totally down-the-line (glorifying and damning in equal measure) is phenomenal. This is only part one; if part two (Public Enemy Number 1) is as chock-full of fun I'll be a happy camper. That's Sky+'d for consumption ASAP.

Just watching The Penalty King. I'm about half an hour in and to be honest, if it was anything else I would have turned it off already.

Still 40 minutes remaining and it's turned off. Quite possibly the worst film I have ever seen.

Adjustment Bureau. Quite a good film, bit strange, but one of Damons better outings.

The Descendants,

George Clooney plays a husband who's wife is in a coma... a revelation occurs... he tries to reconnect with his daughters, examines his priorities etc. Lots of nice shots of hawaii, decentish soundtrack. Not a lot actually happens which is fairly typically for an Alexander Payne movie.

I actually really rather liked it, its quite funny between the emotional bits and there are some good lines. The latter bits of the film turned the mrs in to a sobbing wreck because it was a bit too close to home.

All in all... worth a watch.
Fuck you Rod Liddle, fuck you in your cunting fuckface you fucking third division cunt!
