OT any of you lot been to Krakow?

Postby Man Called Sun » Wed Feb 08, 2012 9:44 pm

Yeah, I'm off there for a stag do (I know, I know) on the May bank holiday weekend (I know, I know). I've just been told that they actually didn't go into the Euro, which is news to me, and shows what an ignorant piece of shit I am. So any of you lot been? Owt I should know? And could any of you give me the correct translations of the following:

- "I'm sorry about my friend, he's a fucking cunt"
- "I was asleep the whole time officer"
- "How much for the works?"

i've been near poland and got tempted by chilli vodka - seemed an interesting combination, especially at £1.20 a bottle. i'd advise you don't do the same - it's a more evil hangover than brandy. i can still taste it 15 years later :puker:

Just go into Wakefield town centre there are loads of those Eastern-European, exotic foreign types hanging around. Be careful when asking to see their Poles though.

Kije poza (bates out) although, it does translate back into english as Sticks affectation

Były mogą znajduję młodego chłopca dla płci (beer please, honest :), try it )

Went to Krakow, few years back, lovely place. Great big town square. Unfinished melody belted out from the local church window every so often.

Had wanted to go to Poland ever since reading a book called the Silver Sword at junior school years ago, so did a lot of historic places, Schindler factory, Auschwitz, the Castle. Also a very errie Square, in the wartime ghetto area with a museum called the The Eagle Pharmacy, Jews were all rounded up in the square and sent to death camps. Chills you to the bone just standing there.

Great restaurants on roads leading up to town square. Lovely borscht.

As for boozers and wild nights, cant help you sorry. But am sure you will love it, beautiful place, great train ride from airport too.

Yeah, I should've said that I'm not the boozers and wild nights type at all, and the stag himself isn't massively to be honest, although I imagine he does fancy getting catastrophically pissed while we're there.

I was talking to a mate last night about it who went last year, and he was telling me about all the war history stuff, and the train ride. Can't say I fancy the war stuff to be honest, not really the time for that. But yeah, cheers for the info innit.
