Yeah, Mick Jones is going be his assistant, but he has also said he will look to appoint a couple of other people.

i find myself looking forward to our manager's next instalments, perhaps more than i should

as was alluded to on a previous thread re Diouf, he is of course a cunt but now he's our cunt (#2) so its hard not to take pleasure in his eminently sensible and refreshing approach to things

he will fall out with cunt #1 soon enough, we just have to hope that its after we've realised our potential rather than before it

watch the sky sports youtube thing (45 mins!) for an insight into his approach.. very funny indeed.. "Lino lino show us that you not totally biased come on for fucks sake.. "

I don't think he's a cunt anyway, but let's retire this phrase, eh? The last two people it was used as a justification for were Wise and Bates, rather suggesting that we should've trusted our instincts. Outside pissing in or inside pissing in, a cunt is still a cunt.

I've reached the point in my life where I basically just retch at all managerial cliches. Big club? Massive challenge? Fantastic support?

Please fuck off. Don't want to hear any of it, at all.

Just try and manage the football team as best you can, eh?

I'd like to hear the lot of it, delivered with enough conviction to sound genuine. They're cliches, but they're also very much true when describing LUFC.

I'd like to hear a lot from our new manager, if only to balance Bates weekly ramblings and hopefully get 2 versions of events when player a wants stupid money to sign.....

on the one hand i totally agree

on the other singing it loudly, vociferously and with real intent (esp at Bramall Lane) seemed to sit very well

compromise on Wanker, which of course Colin is the polite reference to?

No, they're fucking not!

We're not a massive club. We're an ex-League One club with no serious plans or aspirations.

We don't have fantastic support. The numbers are going down monthly and ER is like a fucking library half the time these days.

All this living on long gone past glories is an embarrassment, frankly.

It's only a 'massive challenge' managing Leeds because the club is in such a fucking mess.

I beg to differ, although if things don't change at the top of the club, it won't be that long before you are spot on with your assessment.

The support is dwindling through a combination of poor results/performance, high prices, cunt of a chairman (not necessarily in that order). I fear for the next generation given our shocking approach to young fans, if that isn't addressed then our potential support base will start (continue?) to wane. Likewise, the same factors impact the atmosphere, you can throw in the general trend of quieter crowds up and down the country as a factor too.

On the pitch we're shit but thats temporary (potentially, but in all probability is only going to improve under different ownership).

The important factor in assessing the size of a football club is its reputation within the game - we're still a lot of teams cup final in this division and they mostly still hate us pationately up and down the country, even at clubs we've not faced for a number of years now. It makes us a draw for players, managers, and sponsors alike (unfortunately the chairman scares most of these away again). The day this changes, I'll be seriously worried.

Warnock is not wrong when he says we're potentially a top 6 side in this country, he's just deluded if he thinks its achieveable under present ownership and any time soon.

EDIT: Having though about it a little bit, to say top 6 is perhaps over egging it a bit. I struggle to name more than 5 I'd say are above our potential level, key things being equal (ticket prices, running costs, no debt, self funding), but I can name plenty I'd put on a par with us, top 10 might be a fairer statement.

How very dare you suggest such a thing of our beloved leader? It's the morons, dissidents and sickpots that are scaring them away. :D

We also have the best away support in the country, given the shit we have played over the last few years they are in a class of their own. I'm am saddened that I hardly ever get the opportunity to join them these days.

Oh fuck off will y, we've had a manager for three years who couldn't string together a coherent sentence if his life depended on it, a owner who thinks we're worth less than dog muck, n loves telling us. What the fuck is wrong with a manager who knows football, knows football fans, n knows what we want to hear???

It's fucking great.

Just noticed Colin's book is on Amazon on that 'Look Inside' feature which means you can easily search for certain keywords. Here's what he says about meeting Bates and a bit in general about how his feelings towards him...
