Fucking bullshit, how do you manage to watch a different game to every other fucker else every week ? he set the team up to frustrate and contain Reading and they were doing ok until a rush of blood to the young lads head, you cant plan for players acting the cunt, after that the team coped well and could have been in front before they scored. who the fuck would you have given the job to ?

Fuck you anorl.
I saw exactly the same game as you,
We were fuckin clueless.
Frustrate the oppositon... fuck's sake.
How about playin a bit of footie, how about passing the ball to somebody wearing the same shirt, how about putting three passes together, how about having some kind of game plan, how about not flying in with studs showing....
Fuck off Warnock!
Again you cut yer gib according to yer cloth we dont have the players to play that type of game, not colins fault if the players dive in, it's cos they are shit. As Whitethrough said we could have won that game. Answer the fucking question who would you have in charge ????????????????????????????????

i know we never had fuck all to play for but a defeat after giving our all is very disappointing, there were moments when we tried to keep the ball on the floor with one touch football that i fancy we looked a bit like barca.

Exactly, you cut yer jib according to your cloth.
Huff, puff, hoof hoof, gert into 'em. That's Warncocks, jib, no matter what the cloth.
Not blaming the players, they did what they could. They were told to go out and make the game as hard as possible for the opposition, and they tried hard.
But ...Where is the fuckin football, Neil? 9 points 9 games.
I'd rather see SG still here in answer to your question.

I don't hate Warnock. I'm essentially impartial. If he gets good results, I won't argue with his tactics. When he gets bad ones, he's culpable.

If you have the time, here's an interesting exercise. Re-watch that game and count how many times Leeds lose possession of the ball unforced - as in, not due to a tackle or a slip. I was making a mental note and it averaged once every thirty seconds or so in the first half alone. I got sick of doing it after that.

For me he is trying to get results with what he has been given this season, call it a honeymoon period if you want, the time to judge Colin imo is next season when he has assembled his own squad of players. We all harp on about the dross in the team and list those players we want to see leave the club because they are not good enough yet criticise the manager when he can't wave a magic wand and make those players into Championship contenders. But if you want Barcelona football I don't think that is ever going to happen under Colin, he has been brought in to do a job of getting us out of this division, the play off's if possible this season which is not going to happen now obviously, or the top two next season and I don't think playing pretty football is how he is expecting to achieve it, it's a bit like the West Ham situation they don't like the way the cunt Allardyce plays his football but they will take promotion no question, am sure we will all settle for the same with Colin next season.

Reading today reminded me of us under Grayson when we had that period of playing against ten (or nine) men every week. Man advantage all game, all the possession, but couldn't think of a way through until the pressure finally told at the end.

Our performance was sort of irrelevant after Thompson got sent off - it was all about what Reading could or couldn't do.

That said, Brown and Pugh need to fucking think about what they're doing. Brown got away with things but he was totally artless, and he made himself very conspicuous - he got himself into the position where one wrong move would have been a red. The tackle Pugh eventually got booked for - flying in right down by the corner flag - was utterly fucking pointless. I'm coming to the conclusion that Pugh's a bit of a coward - he'll go flying in like a hard man when a throw-in's at stake, but he's nowhere to be seen when there's real danger about.

These two things are not mutually exclusive, rather the opposite. Teams who keep possession, who use the full width of the pitch, who pass to each other, who have a bit of pace in the side .... are not prevented from getting a foot in when it matters.

...and to add on the Pugh thing - he got booked for his tackle in the exact same area of the pitch that Thompson got sent off in, and whereas Thompson was at least trying to win the ball in a dangerous situation, there was no point to Pugh's foul at all. I could understand it from Thompson because he's inexperienced, but Pugh's a thirty year old footballer who has played his entire career in the top two divisions, and he saw what happened to Thompson, but he was still thick enough to go flying in like that. Fucking witless.

The problem I have in general with Warnock at the moment isn't about next season or who he might/might not buy, it's that he has taken the same squad Grayson had, removed what elements of football they did play, and made them play worse football and win fewer games. He was brought in to have an impact on these players. He's had a negative impact, both in terms of style and results.

This does not mean I think Grayson is the Virgin Mary or was necessarily the right manager to take Leeds forward. But if the players are dross now, they were dross when Grayson had them. Grayson was doing okay. Warnock is doing badly. This does not fill me with optimism for what Warnock might do in the future.

Aye, I blame Brown's example for Thompson's rash challenge, even if the decision was harsh. I then blame Warnock who clearly got them together in the dressing room and said "fucking get into them", essentially. Fuck him for bawling Thompson out on the touchline: he sent Brown, Pugh, Robinson and the rest out to play like that. It's his fucking fault.

Musta is absolutely spot on, again. Today was football for morons and it will get us nowhere.

I agree with you about Pugh, thought he was lucky to stay on the pitch, but not about Brown I thought he timed his tackles well and didnt see one situation that could have resulted or warranted a red. And just like to add to whats already been said about our fans thought yet again they were magnificent today :thumbl:

Next season will be a relegation scrap, mark my words. Bates will not invest, Colin will moan and our best players will have been sold on, leaving us with journeymen and Colin's old bumboy chums who are now past it for the PL or top Championship clubs.

We're still Leeds though, with the best fans in the world but are nowhere near a top half of Championship quality team again any time soon.

Happy Easter everyone!

Football for morons... or we played our hearts out against one of the top teams in the league and held them for 70 mins with ten men and a weakened side. Yeah we didn't create much but we were away from home against a team that controls possession, with ten men and despite our lack of posession at 80 minutes we had 3 shots on goal to their 1. They had a lot of ball but it took a long time to do fuck all with it.

Aye, good post, I almost fully agree. The only positive really is that Colin stands a better chance than most of extracting some sort of budget from Bates, Grayson clearly wasn't getting any more "backing". These aren't his players, so hopefully he'll get his players and we'll see where that leaves us - then I'll moan about style, performances and results if they're not right.

Warnock has not salvaged this season as was the initial remit, but plan B was always next season... the change was the wrong move at that time - I think now would have been the right time (on the massive assumption Grayson would have left us as far off 6th at this stage - I happen to think we'd be closer to 6th had he stayed), with a chance to asses the squad and plan for early summer rebuilding.

Yep, because we only went down to ten men because of our overly fired up, blood-and-thunder approach. There's no need to confuse two-footed tackles with football. Running around might look like "commitment" but it takes far more commitment to keep your head and play football.

One suspects, Musta, that you're too much of a purist to ever appreciate a Warnock team.

I, personally, enjoyed seeing a piss and vinegar Leeds team get a bit of blood on their boots. At the end of the day we're a very average team, in average form, away at a team that has swept all before them of late. We had to try something, especially once we went a man down. It almost worked. Had Snodgrass taken his chance some might have called it a strategic masterclass by Warnock.

I want to see Leeds play winning football above anything else, I don't care how it happens. I'm prepared to give Warnock this season for free, on the proviso that he gets a team in that does win games next season.

Im not sure where this idea that we played good football under Grayson has come from. Yes we scored a ton last season but that wasnt because we played good football. And we did plenty of hoofing it up to Becchio this season under Grayson.
