Ben Fry: Well, Mr Chairman, Neil Warnock has cleared his desk and said goodbye to the club, what are the fans to think of this?
Mr Chairman: Well Ben, I'm very glad you asked me that. Quite frankly he wasn't up to the job. We brought him in to improve on the previous manager's performance and ... well... we all saw what happened. Only two wins for the rest of the season... not good enough frankly. He inherited a squad that was pushing for a top 6 spot and very nearly got us relegated. He asked me for a lot of money to spend on players, and with his track record I couldn't see how it would be justified.
BF: So, now we have Neil Redfern back in the manager's office, you must be very excited.
Mr.C: Yes Ben. If you look at the records of the last managers we've had at the club you see that his record is 50%, historically one of our best managers. On top of that he knows the importance of bringing through young lads. You can spend all the money you like but it doesn't guarantee anything, youth is the future as I'm sure all truer Leeds fans will agree. Just look at Barcelona, European champions yet again, and most of their players came through the youth set up. Fantastic..That's what we're aiming at, not spending silly money on players and agents. The fans have to work hard for their money, well, so do the players, no more of players earning more in a week than most fans do in a year.
BF: ...and work starts next week on refurbishing the Centenary Pavilion, great news.
Mr C. Indeed, Ben. We're all very excited. If you want to have the best you have to invest, not be frightened of spending money. I'm confident that the money we're investing in the new catering facilities ...............
Quality fella
Think we might "fast forward" even further
Lucifer So Mr Bates, how did you end up down here old chap?
KB Er.. I don't know O Horned one. I have always tried to rip off as many peole as possible, and make sheds load of green paper whilst systematically lying to everyone who was prepared to watch my lips move (just the wife and the cat at the end) What more could I have done?
L Er...right,.. ya dribbly faced t-wat. Not sure you understand this post death directional thing, old son. Have ya ever done owt er... welll... decent like?
KB Christ No!! Who has said I did? I will sue the arse off em! Shaun! Shaun! Get me my lawyer. He's doing a 10 stretch in Strangeways!
b]L[/b] Stop shouting you old fool! Harvey ain't down ere yet!.[ But that's his reserved chairin the corner - next to Lorimer's. You can wait for em over there - whilst you have a chat with Pol Pot and Maxwell!
Of course, the problem is, none of this is remotely amusing any more. That interview with the invertebrate muppet could have been extracted at any stage over the last five years. It is singularly predictable - and one of those records that famously "get on yer nerves!". It is very difficult to add anyhting salient to the excellent and wholly accurate contributions above - other than to re-affirm the fact that we will never return to even a reflection of our former glory whilst ever this embarrassing, beligerent, self-aggrandising bufoon is incumbent as chairman.
