A large, "anonymous" donation to the college library fund should do the trick.

Well, we've always used the family/friends option, particularly at that age as there's more of a trust element involved rather than some young lass hoping to top up her pocket money, but I guess I'd work on nice round numbers, £20 for an evening if you're not going to be really late?

Hmmm, I don't think I would hire a male babysitter.

My daughters generally get paid five quid an hour by our friends, with an extra fiver / tenner if it goes on past midnight. Mind, what they've both realised is that the more pissed the returning parents are, the more they seem to get.

They get paid a fucking sight less by us when they need to sit in for the boy, obviously.

yeah, i think we've paying £10 an hour. that's seemingly the sort of rate that nannies or qualified nursery staff charge, but it's quite a lot of dough.

but i would at some point prefer to use a neighbour or similar.

If you are going to trust a neighbour with the welfare of your child, I suggest that you avoid the ones with a damaged car.

I can recommend Piriton and calamine cream (miles better than the lotion).

Cream you say? The quack prescribed the lotion, I didn't know it came in cream form. I think we've got Piriton somewhere in the house, thanx. :salute:

Piriton on a tiny kid? Whoah. I should just go straight for valium, then.
