War nock talking positively about young Charlie. Likely to go out on loan next season but thinks he's a good prospect

Is it me or did Warnock say McCormack might not start every game next year, like Le Fondre at Reading? Does that mean Snods in the hole behind Becchio, assuming the Captain stays for another year?

No, it means Becchio and Snodgrass sold. webber and Paynter up front with The Robbie Rogers wheel-chairing down the right and McCormack coming on for whatever left winger we manage to secure for £1.25 on the last day of the summer transfer window (when everyone is finally done with holidays and olympics and paralplegics etc.....) the last 10 when we're already 3 down...... :(

So at what point today did Ben Fry mumble into the microphone that the attendance was only 19,469?

In fairness he said it quite defiantly and read it out number by number, but it was buried behind the shocking news that Warnock was denying Billy Barndoor a hattrick by substituting him.

As for the game, whisper quietly, but Barndoor was excellent, linking up play in a much better balanced team going forward than recently. After twenty good minutes we reverted to Derby-esque shitness culminating in Charlie Taylor's couple of farces to concede an unlikely goal. We barely got better but had a few half chances, their keeper evidently felt sorry for Billy and gave him a goal, therobbierogers.com continued his usual pattern of making a couple of good touches before being crippled, Webber has no end product, Lees should never play right back again, Pugh was shit, Clayton and Snodgrass were good. Rest were alright. Fergie is a cunt.

Personally I was fucking sick of listening to Lorimer slagging off Grayson all afternoon for unfairly discarding the fat useless scouse lump. My recollection is that we were going mental because Somma who was scoring for fun was being kept out of the team by the fat profligate banjo swinging, non cows arse hitting Billy due to Simons' faith in him.

I was fucking fuming with Lorimer repeatedly saying Billy was a fans favourite, and that basically its fine for him to be shit if he tries. Loved it when they read out an email saying that Billy was "joke" amongst fans (rather than a beloved cult hero), clearly it had slipped through and you could hear the presenters voice trail away as he realised what he was reading out

I cant ever remember feeling this depressed at the aftermath of a Leeds win.

Not sure anyone is fooled that they spent a fair few phone-ins berating Grayson for signing the dozy fucker in the first place. Lorimer is a two-faced cunt at the moment, and I hope it is only being in Bates pocket that is making him so.

Didn't Grayson give Paynter a run of about 15-20 games at the end of last season? With a number of starts as well. He scored one goal at Preston and got sent off at Bramell Lane and was generally shit, so he has had chances.

Paynter will start at Blackpool, he will be gash, as will the team, back to normality.

Surely Lorimer couldn't be as thick as not to realise fans are taking the piss out of Paynter when they sing his name

Also, he was truly dreadful at Brighton, by literally every account. Didn't score or create anything, despite a run of games in a decent team with an excellent striking partner. Their run of bad form seemed to pretty much coincide with him coming into their team. Not to mention, I can't stress this enough - he played loads last year, far more than McCormack, and he was fucking shite. The ball just bounced off his shins and every attempt on goal bar one was embarrassing.

The only good thing about his goals today was that hopefully someone in the league below will see them and make an offer in the summer. I'm hoping that Swindon still like him at that level because they're about to be promoted back to League One. Hopefully we won't be stupid enough to hold out for serious money for him. Even a hundred grand would be a bit ridiculous frankly.

I thought that too but as has been pointed out, he's a director of the club. That doesn't prove much obviously but in my eyes it makes him partially culpable.

I think he believes every word personally, was shouting at the radio when he was slagging grayson off for not giving him a go.

agree with all comments above on lorimer.

embarrassing to hear the cunt claim that fans' 'support' for big bill is anything other than a piss-take.

not the least of ken's crime many, ahem, crimes, that, forcing a basically harmless old soak like lorimer, who does care for the club & scored shedloads of goals for us back in the day, to stoop so low so often.

don't really want to talk about paynter. he reminds me a bit of my own shambolic attempts at parks football back in the day. looks a bit like a traditional 'number nine' but isn't actually that tall, has no spring, & not co-ordinated enough to use his head well. can't run. hopeless first touch. if we can get someone to pay even half his wages next season that's a cracking deal for us.

for pretty much the first time i found myself ruing the fact that we'd won, just because it gave radio bates something to talk about other than how shit we are.

I thought it was quite funny listening to judas scab Lorimer talk about how the fans really liked Barndoor, never heard of irony you daft old twat?

It was alright when we could just ignore the daft bastard, but now we have to listen to his drivel during games, it is fucking sickening. Is Eddie coming back or have to binned him for being too 'critical' of HMV?

Not heard the post match interview, but the Sporting Life write that Colin said ..

... "I don't get carried away, nothing has changed my opinion on what I need," Warnock said. "I haven't got a clue (if Paynter will stay). I don't think anyone can tell me who is going to be involved but I think you would be an idiot if you wanted to leave. "But I was pleased for Billy. He did ever so well. He's been like that in training and that's why I played him. It was a good opportunity, he's been shining in training and I thought: 'To hell with it'. "I told him at half-time that he deserved his goal and he said: 'Really gaffer? I thought I should have had a hat-trick', and he could."

Let that be the last we hear of this ....

It felt like that but I just checked some stats - turns out he started 8 games last season and was a used substitute 14 times - far fewer starts than I thought.
