The total size of the 48 podcasts is 2.73GB, if you're really bothered about space, surely you'll just delete the old ones? I'd rather it was clear and big rather than tinny and small.

It matters if your podcast app didn't autodownload it while you were at home on your wifi connection and then you're sat on a train wondering whether it's worth burning up 80 mb of your 3G data allocation to listen to it.

The BBC's film reviews podcast is provided at 64 kbps and sounds fine to me. Maybe I've got cloth ears but I can't see (or hear?) why you'd need more for spoken word.

Now, at the risk sounding like a bit of a dweeb, whenever I listen to BBC podcasts (or radio on them rare occasions I do), I always find myself spending the first few minutes marvelling at just how wonderful they can make the human voice sound. In my (limited) experience, that is usually only achieved with ultra expensive mikes, which is one advantage I assume the BBC has over this shower of bastar- I mean, top class group of broadcasters.

We record in a Radio Aire studio so any problem with our voices is probably inherent and unfixable. I'll practice my best Terry Wogan impression for the next one.

Ah Radio Aire won't have fuck all like the Queen's beeb though won't they? I wouldn't be surprised it they stuffed a used bog roll with cotton wool and tried plugging them in.

by way of a comparator the BBC 606 podcast is always a little less than half a MB per minute [e.g. a 90 minute podcast takes up about 45, more like 40, MB].

Not fussed by all this techno debate. I think the podcast is fantastic. When you guys first said you were doing it I thought it would be rubbish but I was wrong. Keep up the good work and use as many Gb as you wish.

End of sychophancy.

We're due in this week - Wednesday I think. Depending on everyone's availability, though, I'm tempted to hang on and see what names make it onto Neil's notepad and who gets the boot.

Or you could do a TSB retained list, not just of the squad.

Warnock said he'll tell Yorkshire Radio on Wednesday evening who will be on it (if Bates doesn't blurt it out first at lunchtime), if that helps.

Also, you TSB gents noticed there's a new Podcast award in the FSF Awards this year?

well, i had to move to a slightly cheaper bit of my area, more like Tooting really, & will have to take a fair old mortgage on, but we did need more space. although not as much as we bought. allowed myself to get slightly obsessed with price per square foot to the exclusion of other criteria.

Oh, I think Tooting's basically OK - compared with Streatham say, anyway. You can start saving for school fees early, I guess.
