Didn't Dennis Wise want to reduce the size of the ER pitch when he took over? I seem to recall that he was told that he couldn't change the pitch size during the season, implying that the dimensions aren't fixed at Championship level? Otherwise, I think ours is roughly the same as Wembley, isn't it?
Ours is the standard Champions League size. As is Wembley, according to the available info. All the info I've found online suggests the new Wembley is "slightly narrower" than the old one. Perhaps it was partly a perception thing?
Football League rules allow for the following:
Maximum length 120yds (110 metres)
Minimum length 110yds (100 metres)
Maximum width 80yds (75 metres)
Minimum width 70yds (64 metres)
"Clubs must register their pitch dimensions with the Executive prior to the start of each Season. It will be misconduct on the part of a Club to alter its pitch dimensions during a
Season unless with the prior written consent of the Executive, which consent will only be given in exceptional circumstances. The Executive may at any time require a Club to submit
a report from a qualified independent source certifying the pitch dimensions."
