Trialists, Transfers & Speculation

I can't remember reading anyone criticise Lucy? Eddie and a few others have said didn't seem happy the first half of this season, and wasn't playing well cause of it. I thought they where implying he'd had a fall out with Grayson to be honest. But I've heard no criticism.

Oh, him, I try not to listen too much to what old pissy pants sez. When I read that I just shrugged my shoulders n thought, 'Im sure the club said it was their decision, n anyway, since when did Lucy take his phd in Medicine' ... I thought you meant something recent, n related to the comment about Colin not rating Lucy:)

N don't mention the fucking pram, we've had the new one three weeks n it fell apart when we where out t'day.. :)

I'm genuinely shocked that Luci is disenfranchised, Warnock has tried to sign him a few times and he's been singing his praises since he arrived. I figured he'd be just about the safest place in the team considering his contract and the fact that he's surely our number one striker at the club. I hope it's bollocks, we're fucking dreadful without him.

I assumed this was how Billy got a game, and furthermore when Colin said the other day about somebody he expected to impress him being disappointing I immediately thought Luci or who else could it be?

Perhaps though like me Luci has already seen through all the flannel and bollocks from Warnock in every interview as he strikes me as an honest lad that doesnt need his ego stroking like that.

Actually Im finding all this: "Oh its for the fans really" I just want to repay them" Blah blah blah" all a bit irksome really if Im being honest. Its like a bird who tries too hard to make out that you have some kind of soul mates thing going on, y'know sort of verging on cute and endearing to start with, BUT it soon feels false and somehow deeply unattractive and desperate.

Knockers just win some matches, we'll like you then son.

Bollocks, for a few days I was optimistic about our future and now we've possibly got a huge Luciano shaped hole to fill. That is some bullshit, right there.

Trialists, Transfers & Speculation

Postby jackos » Sun Apr 22, 2012 6:46 am

I reckon it's bollocks. Barndoor was playing cause Colin is looking at the squad, as soon as it matters Lucy is back in the team. It's possible Lucy is still pissed off, but doubt he is going anywhere unless Colin can get someone he thinks is a better partner for RM, even then I reckon we'll keep Lucy for t bench.

If Colin did sell Lucy n keep Billy that'd be, well fuck knows, I don't have words for it...

It's hard to work out what might happening in Luci World. There's still not much evidence that he's learnt much English, and I think sometimes that he must exist in his own little Luci-Bubble, insulated from most of the bullshit.

Snodgrass, our best player and captain, was surprisingly forthright at that Lorimer's Bar about the promises that hadn't been delivered, and about the flummoxing sale of Howson, but he knows what it's all about - remember his other comments, earlier in the season, when he specifically said that 'Bates Out' chants didn't bother him. I don't think I'm insulting Becchio to assume that he, one of the other of our first-rank players, isn't as plugged into the situation as Snoddy. Can you imagine Bates or Lorimer or Harvey trying to explain to Luciano, maybe through an interpreter, why Gradel and Howson were sold and not replaced?

He's maybe got the simplest view of things of any of them. I want to play in the Premier League. I thought we were going to be promoted this season. Max and Jonny have been sold and I don't understand why. This Pugh guy is shit. The new manager shouts a lot and we're losing all the time. My agent says that Wigan want to buy me and I wouldn't even have to move house. On the upside, I kissed a seal. Eh, adios.

//////

By the way, does anyone have a table, or an easy way of making one, of appearances made since relegation from the Premier League? Becchio must be one of our steadiest performers in terms of time spent here and appearances made since we left the top flight.

If Becchio had been fit for the whole of last season, we'd possibly be in the Premiership right now I reckon. Without him we're very ordinary. Along with Snodgrass, I think he's pretty much our pivotal player. I'm not really sure how we'd replace him, we'd probably end up just doing without like we have with Max and LJW.

We did have a fairly decent start playing 4-4-2 with Ross and keogh however it was a one dimensional formation built on McCormack scoring when he stopped which was Coventry at home he then went 7 without a goal we eventually switched to 4231 at forest and milwall but the howson injury was the turning point, it was one critical player lost too many for Grayson (not through his own mistakes, only so long you can spin plates)

Yeah, the McCormack and Keogh partnership was good but I don't think it was destined to last all season and as you say, it eventually fizzled out a little bit in terms of goals. We were playing some great football with those two though. Hull at home was one of the best performances I've ever seen from a Leeds team.

I agree but I also don't see becchio and McCormack working

Which is why i think we have warnock talking about McCormack not starting

I expect us to go 4231 with becchio on his own and snoddy in the three behind with two new wide men or one new wide man and snoddy on the right and a howson type player( Ross cant play that role for me, not got the engine)

That's exactly what I assumed until I heard these rumours about Becchio being dissatisfied.

I can't understand why Becchio more or less has played every minute under Warnock (Apart for a brief Billy appearance) yet Warnock doesn't like him, when he could have played Billy earlier or Forssell even.

Therefore I think its bollocks, Becchio will be here next season and a regular starter. I'm prepared to be completely wrong with this but I just can't believe anything that comes from the club, about the club or speculation about the club.

i like the look of richard keogh. just admire the first 7 pictures of from this google image search and he looks like some kind of versatile character actor who specialises in beuing a crap spiv. he's got a great face.

incidentally he seems to be another right back/centre back combi type, like lees, bromby and bruce have been made to be.
