is there any chance that the falling league position and attendances will finally get through to the truculent one? bearing in mind the precedent he's set i can't see it happening. i'm off to support wigan. :basket:

Well, the new applicant season ticket prices are down 5% and I'd be very surprised if that hadn't been driven by falling attendances and slow renewals. Bates likes to mouth off that the mooted boycott(s) didn't achieve anything, but I think it looks like they have.

I agree. The seriousness of this season's campaign had been undermined so much by the time he arrived, that Colin was allowed to get away with a fairly pathetic end to the season. Obviously that doesn't count for shit if he does the business next season, but he's being a bit self-important considering he's not really done anything here yet, I'd like him to quieten down a bit and get on with the BIG task he's got in front of him.

Wiki-bollox already has Jason Pearce as a Leeds player - when/if confirmed a promising start - but only a start!

Very positive start IMO, their player of the season for the last two years, only 24, very positive start to the summer. And obviously a player Colin was after.

Hopefully this lad turns out to br exactly what we need, but.......

We are signing a defender from a relegated club, as we did with our keeper last year. I really hope this isn't the height of our ambition............. Just saying like........

Without the points deduction they'd have been 18th, not to mention how many more points they could have picked up in a healthier atmosphere and without shipping out a load of players mid season.... Their final position is no guide to this lads ability.

The fact that Pearce had opportunities to move before the end of the season but stayed to fight for survival despite not being paid suggests he has a decent attitude too. Comparatively, Michael Brown refused to cancel a clause in his contract which would allow him to play for Portsmouth in the Championship under similar circumstances.

So basically - he was free and doesn't care about money. He's pretty much the ideal Bates signing!

No idea if he's good or not but winning their POTY for 11/12 is v promising. Not like signing a weak link or fringe player from a club at about the same level as us. If we signed the same (on paper) calibre of player at RB, LM, and CM and also kept or replaced white & snoddy I would consider that to be enough to justify a modicum of optimism or whatever, y'know, an actual footballing reason to go to games, on top of plain old force of habit.

You clearly weren't on the right pharmaceuticals. Another season like this one and we will be, all of us.

My old man was talking to someone at the game yesterday. Apparently Warnock rocked up late for a function during the week, claiming to have been stuck at TA tying up 3 new signings - 2 bosmans and a 500k deal.

My prediction is Pearce, Diouf and maybe Bothroyd.

Well it will make a nice change signing players before pre season training starts and not scratching around the day before the season begins. I think I remember somewhere that the reason for this was to avoid paying a player wages, a fool hardy tactic and the main reason we ended up with the shit that we did.

Fuckers are doing it to me again :shake1:

Happy, Cunty and Dopey. We just need four more.

I'm not sure?

We already have a few contenders for the role of Dopey without signing any more, in fact we have a few contenders for the name of Cunty too when I think about it.

Is there still interest mooted in Colin bringing in Paddy Kenny? Cos he's having a fucking mare at Chelsea. Involved poorly in 3 out of 4 so far... at half time.

Ah . Rachubka's replacement then . Ideal . Can he throw the ball into his own net ? Or get his legs tangles up together ? Or limbs inexplicably fall off ?
