Trialists, Transfers & Speculation

This wouldn't surprise me at all, 1 or 2 by the weekend turned into our top scorer out n none in....

We're used to Bates fantasies, Warnock isn't.

I've thought about this. When Grayson went I wasn't surprised but I was disappointed. If Warnock went I wouldn't be surprised but I also wouldn't give a fuck. It was a fucking disgrace how we ended last season and Warnock must shoulder some of the blame. I am purposefully ignoring the Bates factor as its there and going to be for a while yet.

Warnock to Blackburn? Meh! If he stays - fine If he goes then I won't give a shit.

If he stays? Great!
If he fucks off? Great! it would be the biggest fuck off Bates, Lash n Harvey could get. I couldn't even be bother reading Lorimers bs in yesterday's YEP about Warnock attracting players. LUFC used to be an attraction, before Bates turned the club into a nightmare.

As numerous said when Warnock signed. This is hopefully win / win.

Yeah that's exactly how I felt but given time I have come to the opinion that the stubborn cunts running the club would never admit they are wrong, spin it how they want and make up bullshit about Warnock's departure (See comments and behaviour since Grayson left - whether you thought Grayson should have gone or not the undignified way he has been treated has been shameful)

If Warnock staying or going would make any difference in how the club is run then great, but I don't think it will. Hence my comment.

If he stays - fine If he goes then I won't give a shit.

We might be a shower, but why would Warnock want to join the Blackburn basketcase when he could just walk away and retire. If I were him, I might try to use any potential interest from over there to light a bit of a fire under Bates' arse but it wouldn't be a serious option.

I doubt I'd be terribly disappointed if Warnock did walk away, especially if it exposes Bates still further.

2.5m? Take it, buy a winger or 2 with it and replace Clayton before he actually leaves.

And if the opening talks are 2.5 with 2 bidders, then maybe more to squeeze out.
I am okay with Clayton leaving - depends whether we will be challenging at the top or battling at the bottom. Not sure he would have the heart for weekly hoof-ball.

We made a 10 million quid profit in the transfer market over the last three seasons, didn't replace Max or Howson last season, only have one fit forward if he leaves, n you reckon selling our top scorer for 2.5 million is good business? For Bates maybe, for the club? .... So we sell RM, Snods, Clayton n White for say 2.5, 4, 0.5 n 1M, gives Bates 8m quid. he gives Warnock the same budget he would have done anyway, presents nice profit next year, n gives Harvey a pay rise, while the winner of his "Chairman's Award" leads us in a fight against relegation with crowds around 18k..

You don't get promoted by selling your best players.

i am not an advocate of selling better players and not replacing with quality

Bates will of course sell sell sell then trouser most of the cash, blame everybody else and we'll be in a relegation battle next season. How inspiring...

It is, though I always look at how much it would cost to replace him. I would presume it would cost more than 2.5 million to get a striker who can score 20+ goals in the championship. Though I guess Bates would say the money was good and we have David Somma coming back who is like a new signing so we don't need to replace Ross.

By the by really, but I was talking to a couple of Blades ST holders yesterday - seasoned Wanker watchers - and they were saying how, when Colin joins a club, there's usually an immediate positive improvement. But they reckon there's something about the whole Colin / LUFC situation which just doesn't smell right, and they were certain that he'd be gone before Christmas, one way or another.

We'll see.

I agree mate the cost of the player coming is critical, my comment was on observation based on my thoughts on McCormack as player not as a pawn in the summer transfer merry go round.
