Only two days to go now  really looking forward to it. Three days of top rock music, beer and burgers, should be a lot of fun

Foreign festivals are the way to go.

I've got sick of going to overpriced, shite weathered British Festivals.

I'm off to Open'er 2009 in July. Its based it Gydnia, right next to a beach. A four day camping ticket has cost me £65, and the line up looks awesome.

Good weather, good food, very cheap booze 8)

It was fucking excellent  Fantastic weather, great bands and lots of alcohol. Even the food wasnt bad.

I did see the Crue, although not all of the set as it clashed with Faith No More. Best performance of the weekend was Slipknots in my opinion. Saw a few bands I had never heard before and now need to spend some money on amazon.

Think I saw UFO a few years back, not sure if it was the full line up though. Next gig for me is yet another festival, sonisphere, at Knebworth. Metallica and Linkin Park are headlining the two days. Looking forward to it

Attention SimonB - Motorhead tour- Leeds O2. The gig & band just seem to get better, they are Motorhead but we are Leeds, what a match and Lemmy said alst night best auidence of the tour! "Born to raise Hell" should be played in the LUFC dressing room before the lads hit the pitch

after the gig gutted- another Pudsey lad went down, Murdered last night after Motorhead O2
Police say he was attacked around 11.10, I walked out of O2 at 11.02pm with my son heading down to the railway Station!

(& get fookd any sick/ pyscho's in here who have any thoughts about putting me forward as suspect!)

On the back of the news of the Turks murderers finally getting put away for murdering Chris & Kevin (from Pudsey)its a very cold somber mood in LS28 today.

I missed the Motorhead tour this year :( Which must make 2010 the first year for nearly a decade when I havent seen Motorhead live, fucking great band and always a good night out. My eldest son always come with me to heavy metal gigs and I also now have a step son that is well into the music as well. Reminds me must buy the wife some earplugs....

This has been a zero performance year all round when it comes to live music apart from a few locally based covers bands. Must try harder in 2011.

That is good news, they were excellent last time I saw them. Might take it download again next year, although I will still need to stay in a hotel far too soft to camp these days

Must admit, I really fancy trying ATP. The whole indie / chalets combo thing appeals to me.

Would the kids appreciate Jackie-O Motherfucker, though?

Just ordered my Sonisphere tickets  Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth & Slipknot fucking excellent cant wait. Still chickening out of camping though as it will be home each night for a decent nights sleep and a long shower.

Also ordered tickets to see Roger Waters The Wall as that is one of my all time favorite albums.

Once the credit card bill reduces a bit I will probably get my download tickets be great to see System of a Down again.

Let the rocking commence

Download tomorrow  shame the weather forecast is a bit crap but thats life. Looking forward in particular to System of a Down, fantastic band. Such a shame that they manage to clash with Alice Cooper on another stage, poor organisation that in my opinion.

Well I can certainly confirm that I am too old for a three day festival even when I am staying in a hotel each night  It became an endurance event on the Sunday when already feeling tired it absolutely chucked it down so hard that I was soaked through and I finally decided to give it up after only four hours rocking and retire to the warmth of a local pub!

Having said that it was overall a great festival. System of a Down were just immense and to see Twisted Sister play live for the first time was very enjoyable. Dio's disciples did the great man proud and seeing Maiden United play Iron Maiden songs in an acoustic set was interesting to say the least. Young thrash band from Leeds (didnt catch their name) had a lead singer who managed to knock out his own tooth at the start of their set which he then moaned about throughout but at least he did complete the set and the scenes of mayhem on the third stage when a singer decided to crowd surf were fun, not sure the stewards would agree though. So all in all a good weekend just a shame about the weather on Sunday.

Briefly reformed hyper-speed rockers Hot Snakes playing a show in Leeds in December. More info here.

For people who like: really, really loud guitar music.
