The below interview was done on Yorkshire Radio with Leeds United chairman Ken Bates last Wednesday, March 23.

‘Mr Chairman’ speaks to Thom Kirwin in the absence of Ben Fry. He gives some forthright views on the defeat to Sheffield United, our eight-match run-in which he hopes will end in a late surge for automatic promotion and transfers (which is now totally out of date but nonetheless interesting considering what happened the day after). What Ken Said – 16.03.11 – Bucking Bronchitis

‘Mr Chairman’ is suffering from bronchitis this week , which means he can’t talk to anyone who’ll ask him difficult questions. Luckily, Ben Fry is still available. He explains why he missed the Select Committee hearing in Burnley and reveals what a splendid job Shaun Harvey did filling in, although he isn’t sure what Shaun actually said. There’s a blast for the boys after we failed to beat Ipswich but it’s OK because he doesn’t think Norwich are any good either. He shows some love for our parent club Aston Villa and looks forward to the Sheffield United match before revealing there’s about to be a big hole blown into the side of the East Stand.
