The late departure of Georginio Rutter brought back an unpleasant memory of Max Gradel being sold once the 2011/12 season was already underway. His replacement? Danny Pugh on loan. Cheers, Ken. That came off the back of a summer when key players had left, replaced by a few freebies and Andy Lonergan for 200k. I’m sure Simon Grayson knew what was happening, just as the fans did. He should probably have resigned on principle. By the time January came around it was Jony Howson’s turn to leave. His replacement? Not sure… perhaps Neil Warnock could fix this whole thing? He could not.
