Dan, Michael, Moscow and Oddy recorded the first episode of The Square Ball Podcast on January 4th 2010, basking in the glory of winning at Old Trafford, sure that success was now going to be Leeds United’s forever.

Ten years later, when we tell you one of our most popular episodes was recorded straight after losing to Derby in the play-offs when we were drunk, emotional and the only thing making us happy was seeing children as miserable as we were, you know it didn’t quite work out that way.

Through Bates, GFH and Cellino, from Warnock to Evans to Heckingbottom, all to get to Bielsa and the Premier League, thirteen years of group therapy and bad impressions somehow won us a Football Supporters’ Association award (to go with two for the fanzine) and a loyal gang of listeners making it all worthwhile.

You can follow us on every podcast platform and YouTube, and listen or watch here on our website.

If you like what we do and want to help us do more of it, a TSB+ subscription gives us support and you an ad-free podcast feed, extra episodes, early access to The Match Ball and live video streaming after every game, plus loads more, for only a fiver a month.

The Square Ball

Elland Road, 1972:

50 days that changed Leeds United forever.

A 160 page special publication by The Square Ball, Paul Trevillion and Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, to celebrate Leeds United winning the Centenary FA Cup in 1972.

When Don Revie picked up the phone to call Paul Trevillion, he thought he was getting a public relations expert. What he got instead was a true born artist, a whirlwind of ideas and action, a charismatic tempest. Revie soon nicknamed him, ‘The Beaver’.
