TSB’s 32nd season isn’t going how we thought it would. We’re still kinda sad and angry, but we’re getting on with it.

Our new issue seven is going on sale when Southampton visit Elland Road on Saturday 2nd April 2022. You’ll be able to get a copy for yourself from our sellers outside the ground. And if you love the cover, by Rhys Lowry, see below (or click here now!) to find out about buying that as a print.

Getting the magazine delivered to your home is also a very good idea, as it will arrive free of beer stains and torn corners, unless your postie is having a bad morning.

The best way to buy The Square Ball is to subscribe and get every regular issue delivered to your home for the next twelve months.

That way we know how many to print, and we have the money up front to pay the printer. We’ll post anywhere in the world and you won’t miss an issue.

You can get £10 off a subscription to the paper magazine if you buy an annual subscription to TSB+, our digital bundle. TSB+ gets you all our podcasts advert free, early access and live streaming video of The Match Ball podcast, a digital sub to the magazine, a daily email, discounts and more — and that tenner off getting the paper version delivered.

There’s more information about subscriptions here, and our easy subscription builder will walk you through the process.

If you don’t want to subscribe — why not?! — you can buy our seventh issue of the season on its own right here, and we’ll post it out as soon as it’s printed.

As always our eight times-nominated and two-times FSF Award winning fanzine (plus one for the podcast) includes lots of pages of articles and artwork about what used to be the pain but now is the glory which also involves pain of being a Leeds United supporter, for more than 100 long, long years.

In this issue a lot of the focus is on saying goodbye to Marcelo Bielsa and hello to Jesse Marsch, although obviously none of this stops us laughing at Chelsea and/or Frank Lampard.

As well as analysing Bielsa’s sacking, we take a look at everything to do with Marsch, from the media hype to his jeans to asking, what’s so bad about Ted Lasso anyway? He’s a really good manager! You’ll also find articles about loving Newell’s Old Boys, how well Kristoffer Klaesson did against Wolves, Robbie Keane’s awkward cartwheels, late goals, Luke Ayling and more.

The cover artwork from this issue, by Rhys Lowry, features Bielsa in a heart-pulling Wilkinson pose. It’s available as a print here.

You can order paper copies of issue seven from this page now, and they’ll be sent out after the Southampton game. The digital pdf version is also available to buy here now.

As Howard Wilkinson always used to say, thank you for your magnificent support.
