    £1.50£2.50
Our fifth issue of 2019/20, The Square Ball's 30th season, is an A5 full colour magazine, first on sale when Garry Monk slithers into Elland Road with Wednesday on 11th January 2020. Order the paper version now and we'll post it to you as soon as it's printed, or choose the digital version to get the pdf now. Want to receive all our magazines for the rest of the season? You can buy a half-season subscription here. As always our seven times-nominated and twice FSF Award winning fanzine includes lots of pages of articles and artwork about the pain and the glory, but mostly the pain, of being a Leeds United supporter, for 100 long, long years. In this issue we've got features on Patrick Bamford the loveable villain, all the talk of the town about Eddie Nketiah, a trip to Rosario to find out about Grandpa Bielsa, a study of jinxes, Terry Venables, defending, and much more.
  • Paper Subscription | 2019-20 | Half Season

    From: £30.00 / year and a £15.00 sign-up fee
Receive four printed copies of The Square Ball during the rest of our (hopefully glorious) 2019/20 season, starting with issue 5, released for the game against Sheffield Wednesday on January 11th 2020. Price includes delivery and you only pay the sign-up fee now: £15 in the UK, £22.50 in Europe, £30 in the rest of the world. Your subscription will automatically become a full-season subscription for 2020/21 on July 1st 2020 at the full season rate, unless you cancel before then. We'll remind you nearer the time. • How does it work? This is a recurring subscription product that will take payment now for the rest of the 2019/20 season and will attempt to renew the subscription by taking payment from the same card for each following season on 1st July, unless you cancel the subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time via the My Account button and we will take no further payments. Unfortunately, we can't issue refunds for subscriptions cancelled part-way through the season. • Can you explain the price? Because this is a recurring subscription, the price is given in two parts: the 'sign up fee' and the 'subscription price'. The sign up fee is the fee for the 2019/20 season. The subscription price is then the full price per season thereafter. The language used is just a quirk of the software used in the online store. • When will I get my magazines? Your half-season subscription will start with issue 5, published for the Sheffield Wednesday game on January 11th 2020. All new magazines are sent out by standard delivery around the matchday they first go on sale. This is usually on the Monday following a weekend game, but can occasionally be on the Friday ahead of the game, depending on print deadlines.

    £1.50£2.50
Our fourth issue of 2019/20, The Square Ball's 30th season, is an A5 full colour magazine, first on sale to welcome Jonathan Woodgate's Middlesbrough to Elland Road on 30th November 2019. As always our seven times-nominated and twice FSF Award winning fanzine includes lots of pages of articles and artwork about the pain and the glory, but mostly the pain, of being a Leeds United supporter, for 100 long, long years. The nostalgia is strong in this issue, especially if you're a Street Fighter fan; even if that's all new to you, you'll be amazed by the special moves some of our team are capable of. Plus features on Dominic Matteo, learning about life on the Kop, Stuart Dallas, twisted testicles, and more.
  • 30 years ago, the season The Square Ball began, Leeds United won promotion. 20 years ago, in 1999/00, Leeds qualified for the Champions League. And it's now 10 years since 2009/10, when we left League One behind after three lost years, making Alex Ferguson's nose just a bit redder on the way. The Square Ball Winter Special is a celebration of our last promotion team, a perfect read to get you ready for the run-in to crowning our next one. Unless the run is anything like it was in 2010, in which case, buckle up. This 148 page magazine has a spine, top quality paper, and loads of great articles and artwork by TSB's brilliant contributors. Inside you'll find:
    • Oral histories of January 3rd at Old Trafford and May 8th at Elland Road, featuring contributions from Simon Grayson, Richard Naylor, Andrew Hughes, Michael Doyle, Casper Ankergren, Glynn Snodin, Phil Hay, Adam Pope, Paul Dews and Joe Urquhart
    • Rob Conlon talks to Simon Grayson about where his side could and should have gone next
    • Features on the unsung heroes of League One: Naylor, Kisnorbo, Bromby
    • And players destined for greater things: Gradel, Snodgrass, Delph, Freedman
    • Not forgetting Tresor Kandol, in a category all his own
    • We remember Tranmere 2007, Histon 2009, and Ken Bates all the time
    • And look back through the archives at pages from that season's TSB and photos that won't quite make you wish you were there again, but almost
    • Plus plenty more we can't fit in this description and could only just fit in this massive magazine
Everyone who orders a copy will get a free bookmark. And you'll need it to keep your place in 148 pages.

  • The Sunday Times Bestseller! CHRISTMAS POST COUNTDOWN: Over the last weekend before Christmas 2019, I'll be posting books 1st class, aiming for the following collection times: Friday 20th: 5pm Saturday 21st: 7am & 12pm Monday 23rd: 7am So orders placed on Sunday evening will be the latest I can send. Once the books are in the postbox, it'll be down to the Royal Mail to see them through, so bear that in mind when ordering. If you really need one in a hurry and don't need it signed, Amazon's mad delivery service, or finding it in person in Waterstones or WHSmith's in Leeds centre, or a good local bookshop might sort you out. Thanks! • A new history written by The Square Ball's Daniel Chapman, aka Moscowhite, published by Icon Books in association with Leeds United to coincide with the club’s centenary celebrations. Copies bought from TSB will be personally signed and posted out by Daniel Chapman, with an option to include a unique dedication or message in the book. If you need a copy in a hurry or want it cheaper, the book is available from all good book stockists worldwide, including Amazon and Waterstones in the UK and Booktopia in Australia. If you ask your nearest bookshop anywhere in the world they should be able to order it in. Because of postage costs, this will be much cheaper than buying from here — but this is the only place to order one signed. GET A BARGAIN: Some copies have arrived from the warehouse with minor cosmetic damage to the cover or jacket — bent corners, small tears — and have not been sent out to customers. They're perfectly good readable books, though, so if you're not fussy, use the discount code damaged-goods on your order to receive £4.50 off, and I'll send you one of the less-than-perfect copies, signed and dedicated like all the others. (The odd discount price makes it easy for me to spot your request. If the code doesn't work, it's because I only have undamaged copies in stock.) 100 Years of Leeds United is a 456 page hardback book tells the story of a one-club city and its unique relationship with its football team. Since its foundation in 1919, Leeds United Football Club has known more ups and downs than most, rising to global fame through an inimitable and uncompromising style in the 1960s and clinching the last Division One title of the pre-Sky Sports era in 1992, before a spectacular fall from grace at the start of the 21st century. United remains one of the best supported – and most divisive – clubs in football, with supporters’ clubs dotted across the globe, all hoping for a return to the Premier League. In 100 Years of Leeds United, Daniel Chapman delves deep into the archives to discover the lesser-known episodes, providing fresh context to the folkloric tales that have shaped the club we know today, painting the definitive picture of the West Yorkshire giants.
  • The Square Ball 2019 Summer Special | Digital Edition After Leeds United's best season in years, we've been hard at work recovering from the semi-final disappointment to make sure 2019's TSB Summer Special is our best summer special in, well, one year. What better way of celebrating the start of Leeds United's 100th year, that also happens to be TSB's 30th? At 180 pages, it's definitely bigger than last summer; this is what you'll get: • Andrew Hughes talks to Moscowhite about becoming a Premier League coach, how Leeds will go up next season, and taking fat rascals from Betty's to Bielsa • Andy P introduces a season by season celebration of 30 years of The Square Ball, with artwork by some of our finest contributors • Features on the old school of Leeds United: Allan Clarke, Tony Dorigo, Jonny Howson, Jimmy Hasselbaink, Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane • A throwback to 1960, and the influence of Real Madrid 7-3 Eintracht Frankfurt on LUFC — and nearly Bournemouth • Rob Conlon finds out who the donations to the Leeds Fans' Foodbank helped — and why more are needed • A look back at Leeds United Ladies' season with Emma Lee • 2018/19 in words, in our writers' player-by-player review of the season • Relive the anticipation, glory and pain of matchday in Lee Brown's photographs • More pages (180!). Bigger pages. Apparently the word is 'bookazine' but it's good whatever it is The print edition of the Summer Special is now sold out, so this digital edition is the only way to get your hands on one.
