Written by: The Square Ball
Cover artwork by: Rhys Lowry
The cover of The Square Ball magazine 22/23 issue 05, featuring a drawing of Eddie Gray in a 1960s Leeds United kit, controlling an orange ball, in front of a Scotland flag. It's been drawn by the great Rhys Lowry

This is the fifth issue of TSB’s 33rd season, celebrating Eddie Gray’s 75th birthday and the contributions of the whole family. Including:

  • Our writers on Eddie, Frank, Andrew and Archie
  • Rob Conlon talks to Eddie’s Revie-era understudy and (possible) inventor of the stepover, Chris Galvin
  • Lots of ways of saying ‘dziękuję, do widzenia’ to Mateusz Klich

Can I buy the magazine at Elland Road?

As always since 1989, barring pandemics and badly timed World Cups, The Square Ball magazine will be on sale outside Elland Road, for the match against Brentford on Sunday 22nd January 2023. Just look out for our windswept but friendly sellers by the Lowfields tunnel, Billy’s Statue, the Kop gates, and anywhere else someone is holding a fanzine in the air, until about fifteen minutes before kick-off.
