“Is he still playing for Leeds?” The question came from my five-year-old son after the 4-3 win at Ipswich. “Yes, he is,” I replied. Thankfully there were no further follow up questions. Trying to explain who it’s okay to like and who it’s probably best to move on from has been tricky to explain to a child watching Leeds United in recent years.

The first major hurdle was Kiko Casilla. One of the first football songs my son knew was the Pablo Hernandez/Kiko Casilla one. Suddenly having to drop ‘Kiko see-ya’ from the song isn’t really something you can explain to a two-year-old. Er, we just don’t sing that anymore. He’s probably not always been a very nice man. Let’s move on.
