Bucket list

A collage of photos of Simon and James taking Bielsa's bucket to Uruguay

While no one wanted Marcelo Bielsa to take over at Bournemouth or Everton, when he took the Uruguay national job going to see home games in Montevideo seemed like a stretch for a Leeds fan. The stadium that hosted the first World Cup, hosting the greatest manager of all time — it’s a great fit. The 2hr10m flight if he’d got the job at Athletic Bilbao was more tempting, though.

It felt (and still does, if any Leeds management are reading this) like a friendly against Uruguay at Elland Road was the only obvious course of action. Marcelo could go to his favourite Costa. We could all say the goodbye we missed out on.
